Nikola sold 88 of its Class 8 Hydrogen trucks in Q3 2024
October 8, 2024The zero-emission transport vehicle and energy supply company has sold 200 so far this year
From the start of July through the end of September this year, Nikola Corporation recorded the sale of 88 of its Class 8 hydrogen trucks, which was well within the range it had predicted for that quarter.
The company has also been working on its HYLA H2 supply brand
Nikola’s own predictions for the quarter were that it would reach between 80 and 100 hydrogen truck sales within that quarter. This means that it managed to reach its target with some healthy room during those three months.
The first three quarters of this hear have seen the company wholesale 200 of its H2-powered transport vehicles. Moreover, it has sold 235 during the year ending at the close of Q3 2024. It was in the last quarter of 2023 that the vehicle first became available for purchase, meaning that in that model’s first year, the company was able to sell 235 units, 88 of which occurred within the most recently completed quarter.
Nikola has been highly enthusiastic over its Q3 sales figures for its hydrogen trucks
“This is a record sales quarter for Nikola, with 88 hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks wholesaled to our dealers for end customers, as well as the addition of a first-ever U.S. dealer-based HYLA modular refueling station,” said Steve Girsky, CEO of Nikola Corporation. “Despite overall market headwinds, Nikola remains focused on our mission to pioneer solutions for a zero-emission world, and we’re doing it one truck at a time.”
All the hydrogen trucks Nikola produces and sells are made and manufactured in its facility in Coolidge, Arizona.
The company’s Q3 figures are based on preliminary data. It should be noted that at the time of writing of this article, Nikola’s own quarterly review process and its financial statement preparations were underway but were not complete. Therefore, dollar amounts were not included in this publication for the quarter that ended on September 30, 2024.
Vehicles and their fuel
Nikola has been focusing on rolling out both hydrogen trucks and the H2 supply and infrastructure that will be needed to realistically operate those vehicles.
