Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powertrain
A hydrogen fuel cell powertrain uses a fuel cell stack to convert hydrogen and oxygen into electricity through an electrochemical reaction, which then powers electric motors to drive the vehicle, emitting only water vapor and heat at the point of use. Within the Cummins–Tata Motors collaboration, hydrogen fuel cells are part of the low- and zero-emission technology portfolio, and Tata has already demonstrated hydrogen fuel cell buses as part of its zero-emission public transport initiatives.[2]
