Mining and natural hydrogen exploration

Hydrogen formed over geological time deep underground, also known as geological or white hydrogen. It is a potentially low-cost, zero-emissions fuel source that does not require electrolysis.

The process used to produce green hydrogen by splitting water using electricity.

Discovery of the world's largest white hydrogen flow in an Albanian chromium mine, detected bubbling up through a pool of water, described as nearly pure hydrogen.

An exclusive mining exploration permit applied for by FDE to search for and explore natural hydrogen in the Lorraine mining basin. The permit covers 2,254 square kilometers in the Grand-Est Region.
