Freire Shipyard, located in Vigo, Spain, is constructing the new Greenpeace flagship vessel. The shipyard laid the keel for the vessel in July 2025. The yard is responsible for building the 75-meter sailing ship to environmental, sustainability, and human rights standards.
Freire Shipyard placed the order for the vessel on behalf of Hexagon Purus Maritime. They were confident in Hexagon Purus Maritime's technical capabilities for this project.
This shipyard placed the order for the hydrogen fuel system and will be using it in the new Greenpeace vessel.
